ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE-PU17-BU 10.1-Inch Blue Netbook – best cheap now
>I bought this as a replacement for my old Eee PC 701. The keyboard is a dream to type on. I was very worried that it would be tough (like the 701), but it isn’t at all. The “island” design of the keys makes it much less likely that you will press two keys at once, even if your finger hits the key a little off center.
The screen size is nice and roomy; nothing remarkable about it. Web pages load fine and seldom require horizontal scrolling. It has the same horizontal resolution as most non-widescreen monitors, so most web sites are designed to fit within it.
The battery life is simply amazing. Believe the hype! I’ve tested it and seen for myself. Even with the wifi turned on, it can get around 9 – 10 hours of use. Compare that to a full-sized laptop only getting 2 – 4 hours.
I have a Droid 2, and have successfully tethered it using the built-in bluetooth, which is a netbook computers nice feature.
I always take this on vacations with me, and really like the built-in SD card reader, so I can easily backup my pictures each night from my camera.
It isn’t the fastest machine out there, but I have never felt impatient or frustrated with it.
Overall, I am glad I made this purchase.
